Theresa “Tree” Beeckman is, above all else, a committed student of coaching, team culture, leadership, and generational understanding. With more than three decades of experience across multiple competitive levels, her coaching journey—from Delta College to Ferris State, Central Michigan, and Western Michigan Universities—has given her a deep understanding of what truly drives team success. 

Since transitioning from collegiate volleyball coaching in 2015, Tree has traveled the country partnering with athletic departments, coaching staffs, and teams to elevate performance through culture transformation, leadership development, and deeper generational connection. She is the co-founder of the TLC Institute for Athletic Coaching Excellence and the founder of Tree Roots Culture Consulting LLC, where she created and teaches the Tree Roots Team Culture Model™, a nationally recognized framework for designing and sustaining healthy high-performance team cultures. 

Tree is also the creator and instructor of the Tree Roots Culture Online Program, an accessible, in-depth digital learning platform built for athletic coaches who want to rethink, design, and influence team culture with clarity and purpose. 

Beyond her work with teams, Tree is a highly rated public speaker whose energy, clarity, and authenticity make her a sought-after keynote presenter nationwide. She also serves as a color commentator for ESPN’s college volleyball coverage and teaches as an adjunct professor at the University of Florida. 

In 2020, she authored Managing Your Culture. Tree is a former collegiate athlete herself, lettering four years in softball at Saginaw Valley State University, where she earned her B.A. in Psychology. She is a 2008 graduate of the NCAA Women Coaches Academy and a proud 20-year resident of Big Rapids, Michigan.
